Alpha online. Plans are being finalised for an online Alpha course that runs Jan 10 - Mar 21. More information on our main page.
A number of Christmas events have now been finalised for this December including A Community Christmas Event [Dec 4th], A Messy Christingle [Dec 12th], Carol Service [Dec 19th], Christmas Eve Nativity [Dec 24th], and Christmas Lunch [Dec 25th]. See Main Page for further details.
A new social gathering begins this month [BOCBOF]. It will be held in the morning on the first three Mondays every month, providing the opportunity for refreshments, chat, board games, puzzles, or just chill out and relax.
February 2022 Holiday Club. Plans are now under way for a holiday club to take place in February 2022, for 5-11 year olds. This will adopt the Scripture Union theme of 'Wonder Zone'. More details later.
Mid-week Childrens Group. Plans are underway for a new midweek group for years 1-6. This will be an after school club. It is hoped that this group will be able to commence in November of this year. More details when they become available.
Tearfund's Big Quiz. We will be hosting A Big Quiz Night on Saturday November 20th in participation with Tearfund. Last year's could not take place because of Covid, but the event in November 2019 was a huge success. Worship In The Wild. Throughout the end of June & July, a series of worship gatherings in the outdoors to experience God the Creator in His creation and to worship Him together as an intergenerational family.
Some activities based within the church building are able to resume due to relaxation of COVID restrictions.
For the 10 days leading up to Pentecost [May 23rd] we will be joining in with the Thy Kingdom Come global prayer initiative.
Our Easter programme remains online this year. Daily devotionals are available for Holy Week [and will be retained for a period after Easter], as will be the Easter Sunday service. The one exception this year to an 'online' Easter will be an Easter Trail that takes place in the areas nearby to the church on Saturday April 3rd.
A Day of Reflection is being organised by UK charity Marie Curie, marking the anniversary of the 1st COVID-19 lockdown, that SRMC is actively supporting. As well as reflecting upon COVID related events on March 23rd, the fellowship is encouraging contributions of of Spring-related pictures/drawings for a window display at the church.
The Lent and Easter programme of event is being to take shape - including a pancake zoom party for Shrove Tuesday, a Lent series of Sunday services focusing upon 'Worship in the Wilderness', and a series of daily devotionals for Holy Week.
