“God has done it all!  He sent Christ to make peace between himself and us, and he has given us the work of making peace between himself and others.”

Andrew - Five More Years
We are delighted to let you know that at its meeting on11th September, the Circuit agreed for Andrew to continue his ministry among us for a further 5 years. This period will start in September 2025. We pray for God's richest blessings on Andrew and his family as he continues to develop his ministry among us and move us forwards in mission - connecting people with Jesus for life, hope, and more!

Working Party
We're very grateful to those who came and helped at the working party on 14 September. We were a small group, and while we achieved a lot, there are some outstanding jobs, notably cleaning windows inside the building. If you are able to help with this in your own time, please get in touch with Trevor Durston for details.

Sunday October 13th – Messy Church
After a lively start to the new season in September, Messy Church continues on October 13th looking at Listening to God - via the story of Moses and the burning bush.  Lots of fun activities & crafts, stories, song and food. Get this date in your diaries for your kids and grandkids - and yourselves! You can come along even if you don't have kids/grandkids - it's for all ages. And please also pray for this work. Remember - it's part of Sheldon Road's mission work. Contact Richard Bailey or Linda Kalbskopf for further information.

Saving Gas, Money and the Planet
Last winter for the first time we set up a rota of a few volunteers to adjust the heating controls so that they are synchronised with the bookings calendar. We started in January and used 8.5% less gas than for the same period the previous year. That resulted in a saving of £425. Some of this might have been because of the weather but it did seem very worthwhile. This year we hope to have even more savings by starting this synchronisation process in October, and because the price of our gas will double from Dec as we enter a new contract. If you'd like to join this rota to help keep gas consumption and costs down please speak to Trevor Durston.

Harvest - Thank You
Sandra has written, on behalf of the Salvation Army, to thank everyone at Sheldon Road who donated items of food or money to the foodbank at our harvest service. These gifts were very much appreciated.

Christmas Day Lunch
Adrian and Annette are organising this year's Christmas Day lunch for single people or couples who would otherwise dine on their own, and they need help.  Please contact them if you can help.

Saturday 30th November – Community Arts & Crafts Fair
Although this feels a long way off we need to kick off the organising.  If you would like a table either for your business (£20) or to sell something to raise funds for church (free) please contact us. Send a message with what you are selling, if for a business or for church, and your email address.

If you have a skill that we could utilise for a craft on the day please let Tammy know if you would be willing to host a craft and what it would be. It will then be taken to committee and we can work out what will work best at the Community Art and Craft Fair.  Thank you together we can make an amazing day again.  Thank You.

Sheldon Road’s 125th Anniversary
In 2026 we will be celebrating the 125th Anniversary of Sheldon Road at its present location. We would like to plan a year of celebration and to use the opportunity to 'connect people to Jesus, for life, hope and more'. So if you would like to be part of a small planning group, whether you have been in the church for nearly all of those 125 years, or are new to our fellowship, please contact Linda Kalbskopf.

25th January 2025 7.30pm – An Evening with Paul Kerensa
After the success of his visit to Sheldon Road Church in December, Paul has been booked to return for another show in January 2025.  Further details later in the year.
